The Beginning – The Excitement

It has begun. The first session with Alex Jeffreys, my mentor (actually the 3rd one, I am a slow learner :)

Since I have operated a product-type website for a few years I have a lot of the infrastructure already in place. This like a Registrar for domains (godaddy); a web host (for websites); an autoresponder (for optins and automatic sending of email messages to potential customers); programs to make it easy to prepare webpages (Frontpage); a library of tools like a Google keyword search tool and many others that I will introduce as I proceed with journal of what I glean from Alex’s teaching.

Alex started off with what he calls “Forward to Basics”.  In a word “it planning”.

Probably planning is the most difficult task to accomplish effectively. I started with segmenting Monday thru Friday  into time blocks for specific areas. For instance I am at my best early in the morning so I set aside a 2-hour block of time to work on anything to do with my Real Life Success 4 U site. http://reallifesuccess4u.com is the domain I have selected for my project with Alex.

Next comes a 2-hour block to do any general administration work I need to get done. This includes any banking, checking current shop carts for sales volume, run my morning email que, check in with my assistant to see if he has any items to discuss. He writes articles and posts various blogs with content for the product-type website biz that I run. This might also include a chat with my merchant account about any issues; check my paypal account for any issues there and check the autoresponder for the progress of the message series in progress. This would include the scheduling of any additional message writing that might need to be done. You get the idea, anything administrative that needs to get done, is done.

A little break for some food and on to another 3-hour time block for Real Life Success. These are general time blocks. I maining  TODO list and a DID IT lists so I don’t forget anything and keeping a track record of what I have accomplished. The DID IT list is quite rewarding from time to time as it gives me a sense of accomplishment, of actual progress with the project.

The final 2-hour time block is for tomorrows planning and research. This also serves as catch-up time for anything that was missed during the day. Saturday (yes I work 6-days) is about the same but some hours have been cut. Depending on personal time, I may do a couple of things on Sunday that I have thought of during the week.

So there you have my daily work schedule.

My next journal entry will cover how I plan my next days “things to do” list. This journal is all about Real Life Success business, therefore the current business that supports me while I learn this new business will not be mentioned any further.

Hey, I like your blog post. Makes sense that you set up a time schedule to be organized. I realize after opening over a hundred email you mind gets scattered and unfocused. I have scheduled 1/2 hour when I login and at the end of the day 1/2 hour. That way, I don’t lose track of time.

One suggestion to you. Your font is a little small. It would probably easy to read at maybe 14-16 font. No offense.

Another suggestion. My Blog post goes over using Podpress PlugIns For Your WordPress Blog. That way people can go to blog and listen to your podcast. Check out my blog at http://officialinternetmarketingexpert.com/Blog2 and Feel Free To Leave Me A Comment.

My next blog post I will go over creating a xml file and uploading to your server. That way you will be able to send your RSS Feeds To Podcast Directories For More Traffic.

If you want to cross promote my products for yours. I would be game.

Hey, take care, I hope to hear from you soon.

Hi Jerry, I’m very impressed with the disciplined schedule you have in place. I can see how you would achieve excellent results this way. I agree with the previous comment by Ray regarding the size of the font, however that’s probably only an issue for us ‘boomers’ :-) I simply increased the size with the zoom tool.
As you’ll see with my list of ‘websites’, I have a few things on the go, & I also have a job, so I probably should take a leaf out of your book & attempt to manage my time a little more vigalantly.
    Cheers Toni
