Well to backtrack a bit, my first coach was a fellow that taught emailing techniques but in the mid-90’s no one thought about really building a list, at least he didn’t. In those days email lists were purchased and you mailed them attempting to sell your product. It’s amazing but we got 1 to 2% in sales and the mailing was up to 25,000. This means we could get at least 250 sales. I was selling a database manager product back then.

What the sad part is I didn’t realize and no one mentioned about trying to build a relationship with this list with multiple informational messages and take the 25k list and filter it down to a list of people that would have confidence and trust in what I was telling them and whenever I had something of interest they would listen and make a decision if it was for them.

We just bought a new list for the next product. Around this time everybody got tired of having all this mail pushed to them and “spam” was born. Actually bulk email, that’s what email spam is, was born way back in 1973 when 400 emails went out advertising a computer system. It wasn’t until March 1993 that word SPAM was applied to a USENET post. That was the era of BBS’s (Bulletin Board System) The rest is history.

Around this time a friend (actually he was a person that I coached on the technical aspects of the computer and the Internet) asked me if I would be interested in a partnership in a vitamin business. I accepted, but I will continue with that next phase in my next post.

Before we get to really moving on my helping any of my followers in their efforts to get a biz to making some real money on the Net, let me, let you all know where I am coming from.

First of all I consider myself a slow learner. You’re probably asking yourself “Why does he say this?”. The answer is I was into the Internet back in the late 1990’s when all the famous guys now like Rich Shefren, John Reese, Mark Joyner, Yanik Silver, Armand Morin, Joel Comm, Perry Marshall, Joe Vitale, Gary Halbert (deceased), Michael Cheney, plus many more. There are close to 100.  How come I cannot count myself in that group?

Look where they are, many are millionaires, look where I am, still struggling. But I follow the strategy of Thomas Edison, another failure is just one step closer to success. Edison had over 1,000 failures before he finally found the secret to the electric light.

I really have been into computers since the 1980’s when I purchased my first Radio Shack Model I 48k, floppy disk based machine. WOW – look what we have today. Sorry just a little nostalgia

In the late 1990’s I launched a vitamin shop cart and still operate that site today. It has made money. Gross sales this year are estimated to be about 200k. The net is substantially less because it is a product-based business and it has to have employees to run it. It cannot be run on autopilot like the biz I am introducing you too. BUT if you compare that with what Alex Jeffreys will make this year it is peanuts.

Anyway around 2003-4 I got interested in trying to start a Internet biz with soft products. Diversification right ? This means the promotion of eBooks or software that would assist other internet marketers to promote/advertise their businesses.

I’ve had coaches; joined memberships; bought thousands of dollars of courses, eBooks, etc.; created dozens of websites, run Adsense campaigns, etc. etc. and still I have not joined the ranks of the 200k net income group.
